Keen on promoting the educational sector and encouraging Palestinian students to continue their education, Bank of Palestine developed student loan programs at universities.

Bank of Palestine University Loans (university installments)

The purpose of the granted facilitation: these facilitations are granted for students enrolled in all disciplines at Palestinian universities to respond to their necessary needs and assist them in continuing their education by enrolling at various universities.

Loans currency: Jordanian Dinar

Interest Rate: 8%

Grant Commission: not applicable

Installments Period: maximum six months for each payment, whereby the loan is made in installments in accordance with the cost of each semester.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • That the applicant is minimum 18 years old.
  • A registration certificate for students enrolled in the university and an admission certificate for new students.
  • A registration certificate for the semester indicating the number of credit hours registered for and the required amount of money, whereby the loan is made out in installments at the beginning of each semester after providing the bank with the number of years of study and the cost of each semester in order to calculate the loan value.

Guarantees:

  • A letter of guarantee from the student's parent + a salaried guarantor.
  • A total of two regularly salaried guarantors in case the salary of the student's parent is not transferred to the bank, along with the parent's letter of guarantee.

Graduation fees program loan for Birzeit University students part of the Bachelor of Arts and Masters programs

The purpose of the granted facilitation: these facilitations are granted to Birzeit University BA and MA students from all disciplines to pay the fees for graduates, whereby students are granted a loan in the amount of remaining fees based on an official letter from the university.

Loan Currency: Jordanian Dinar

Installments Period: the maximum period for paying off a single loan is four years.

Minimum Loan Amount: 500 JD

Maximum Loan Amount: 5,000 JD

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Loans are granted to students interest free and commission free (with the exception of interest accumulated as a result of late installments)
  • The loan amount with be transferred to the University account number 232888 at the Ramallah branch after subtracting the bank's interest rate.
  • Interest is subtracted from the university account at a flat rate of 3.5% and deducted in advance in accordance with the number of years when installments are paid.

Guarantees

A letter of guarantee from the student's parent, provided that the latter has a salary that is transferred to the bank. An additional guarantor whose salary is transferred to the bank is acceptable in case the salary of the student's parent is not transferred to the bank.

Graduation fees program loan for Al Azhar University Bachelor of Arts students

The Purpose of the Granted Facilitation: these facilitations are granted to Al Azhar University BA students from all disciplines to pay the fees for graduates, whereby students are granted a loan in the amount of remaining fees based on an official letter from the university.

Loan Currency: Jordanian Dinar

Installments Period is as follows:

  • Loans up to 500 JD, installment period up to 12 monthly payments.
  • Loans up to 1,000 JD, installment period up to 24 monthly payments.
  • Loans over 1,000 JD, installment period up to 36 monthly payments.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Loans are granted to students interest free and commission free (with the exception of interest accumulated as a result of late installments)
  • The loan amount with be transferred to the University account number 232888 at the Ramallah branch after subtracting the bank's interest rate.
  • Interest is subtracted from the university account at a flat rate of 3.719% annually and deducted in advance in accordance with the number of years when installments are paid (the same applies to Abu Dees University graduates).

 Guarantees

A letter of guarantee from two guarantors, one of them being the student's parent, whose salaries are transferred to the bank. An additional guarantor whose salary is transferred to the bank is acceptable in case the salary of the student's parent is not transferred to the bank.

Graduation fees program loan for the Arab American University Bachelor of Arts students

The Purpose of the Granted Facilitation: these facilitations are granted to the Arab American University BA students from all disciplines to pay the fees for graduates, whereby students are granted a loan in the amount of remaining fees based on an official letter from the university.

Loan Currency: Jordanian Dinar

Interest Rate: 8% from the student's account.

Grant Commission: Not applicable

Installments Period: Four years maximum for a single loan.

Minimum Loan Amount: 500 JD.

Maximum Loan Amount: 6,000 JD

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Students are granted a loan in the amount of remaining fees based on a letter from the university.
  • The official signatory on behalf of the university is Professor Faleh Abu Arra- Assistant Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs.

Guarantees:

The student's parent, provided that she/he has a salary transferred to Bank of Palestine. In case the salary of the student's parent is not transferred to the bank, an additional guarantor is acceptable, provided that she/he has a salary that is transferred to the bank.
